In June of 2008, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Madison, Wisconsin announced $2.6 million support to bring the AVID program to local students in order to better prepare them for college. The program will monitor students’ academic progress, take them on college tours, and provide support throughout their secondary experience, making college access a real option for underprivileged adolescents.
